This book is great if you want to learn about some of the additives that are in processed foods. I was expecting it to tell me if the additives were good or bad, and it does not do that. But it is very through and lists more things than I could imagine that get added to your foods, either good or bad. So take it shopping with you, and learn what you are eating. It will help you put a lot of things back on the shelf.

This is a great book for anyone who is concerned about food additives. This is my second book. I use this book more than any other book that I have regarding additives. It is my food bible. It is the most informative book about additives that I have come across so far for the price.

I love these consumer's guide books. I have another one too. They are so great and convenient to have on hand. I keep this one in my kitchen.

informative

Well, if you want to be able to eat your food without worring about the content, then don't read this book. I admit that even I did not know a lot of the dangerous additives that are put into my food. A definite must read, but beware, you will not look at your food the same way again.

Didn't have everything I was looking for, like soda - I see that a lot in ingredients, but could never get a clear understanding of what it actually is. However the book is good. I only wished they made a pocket-size version to take with me when I go shopping for food.

This book has enabled me to read just about any ingredients list and understand it fairly well, and I have changed some purchasing habits for the better because of it.

This is a comprehensive list of good and not so good stuff that goes into your food. With this in hand everyone can make the best decisions of what to eat in order to stay healthy. See also her other books including her Dictionary of Cosmetic Ingredients.
