This is a book which I wanted to read for a long time but hesitated to do so for I was expecting to find outrages concerning humans. It is in fact the essense of the book. It is a perfect description of the role and activities of the worse of rogues in our society. It is nevertheless a very effective eye opener upon a subject matter about which I knew comparatively precious little. It is a masterpiece of information which seldom appears in daily news. It describes idious hardships suffered by innocent young ladies from Eastern Europe,mainly Russia who are taken to Western Countries for sex abuses, by local vilains. I found the readings most enlighting on a subject matter seldom tuned upon in daily literature and thus good and important to know about especially for citizens of the Americas, the recipients .
This book brings to reality what is happening every day in the world. It seems very few people care any longer what happens to Our fellow man. It's a shame that We only think and care for Ourselves. The world is going to s_it in a barrel. I'm only hoping We are not to late to change not only the world, but Ourselves.
I'd say it's hard to believe but unfortunately it isn't. The depths of the lusts of a man's heart and how we trample others to satisfy our sinful desires is sickening. And the problem grows as we read these horrific tales and donate our money to ministries that attempt to stop them. Forgive us Natashas!!!
Easy to read. A story that should be told & read. As I finished this book, the Chinese massage parlor story in Florida was breaking. I recognize that as sex trafficking right away because of this book. Highly recommended
This book is so heart wrenching! I have to do a research paper on Sex trafficking and I came across this book and this is by far one of the most well written, detailed insight into the atrocities of sex trafficking! Definitely a must-read!
This is a well written, informative book that gives a thorough overview of the world of human trafficking. It was written several years ago but is still relevant today. Very motivating. We must do more to combat this attrocity.
I found this book to well written and organized while dealing with a seriously horrible problem confronting society worldwide. It is a total shame that there is a demand for these women and no real effort to stop the trafficking or the men that use these women. Opened my eyes to the problem. A must read.
This book brings to light yet another sordid episode in the dark annals of human history. Young women and teenagers from across the former Eastern Bloc have been/are being kidnapped, coerced or tricked with fake promises of jobs, and forced into prostitution. I.e. slavery still exists in this world.These women are then trafficked not only to other areas in Europe (including the Balkans) but to every corner of the earth from the Americas to the Middle East and Far East. Actual and threats of violence against these women are perpetrated by their captors to keep them in line and to prevent escape, in numerous cases ending in death of the women. These captors are well-connected, well-organised syndicates which not infrequently have global connections.This book highlights the high likelihood of complicity of world body(s), and various organisations in either turning a blind eye to this sexual slavery or whose representatives even being directly involved in it or taking advantage of the enslaved women. There is much rhetoric by the world bodies and countries concerned, but minimal effort seems to have been made to stop this atrocity.There are also heroes, men of outstanding character who risked their own safety to rescue the women and have the brothels shut down.The book brings us up to some developments in 2004 and the author did not sound too optimistic. My view is that perhaps the situation has today, somewhat improved in certain countries such as the Czech Republic and Poland but really hasn't changed that much in many of the others.A compelling but sobering read that will make you convinced that certain segments of "humanity" do not deserve to exist.
