.Patrick Covington’s policy was women are only for evenings and weekends. As the VP of Acquisitions, Covington Industries, and with his good looks and money, it’s easy to find a willing partner and his souvenir drawer is proof. It’s rough trying to find someone who wants him without all the wealth. When his buddy Phil jokingly suggests he walk a mile in his shoes, Patrick takes him up on the bet and switches out his flashy red Corvette for Phil’s twenty year old heavy duty truck.Elizabeth Turner promised to take care of her sister Stacy and her young son. Dropping out of college before completing vet school, Liz works long hours helping to pay the rent and college expenses for her sister to complete nursing school. After dating blue collar guys who never had steady jobs or a future, who’ve left her broke or in further debt when the relationships failed, Liz’s dating rule is now only dating stable professional types, doctors and lawyers preferably. After Liz witnesses a dog get hit by a car, she tries to catch it without luck until Patrick intervenes and then agrees to take it to the vet. Several hours later, Patrick meets up with his buddies at their usual lunch spot and discovers Liz works there and asks her out. Too bad she discovers smoking hot ‘Pat Patterson’ is just another construction guy and turns him down.I was given an ARC copy of this book for an honest review and loved the story so much I purchased my own copy.
This is a wonderful fresh take on a contemporary billionaire romance with memorable characters and a beautifully written story that kept me entertained and intrigued from beginning to end.I loved the instant attraction, sizzling chemistry and repartee between Pat and Liz. I didn't want their story to end as I got to the last page. This is a must-read for anyone who enjoys a well-crafted romance.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I enjoyed the book so much, I purchased a copy for my keeper library.
Another great read by Erin Swan and her Billionaire series. An original premise that leaves you cheering for Pat and Liz. And the tease for the next book makes me anxious for the next in the series. Well done!
Once you start reading you can't stop. The story holds you right til the end.
Patrick wants someone to love him for himself and not his bank account so, he does an experiment with his friend Phil and trades his corvette for Phill's construction truck and changes his last name when he runs into Liz after together they rescue a dog that gets hit by a car. Pat ask's Liz out but she continues to say that she only dates professional me and not construction workers because her last 2 boyfriends were construction workers that screwed her over. Pat finally wears Liz down and she starts falling for Pat. Pat finally has the relationship that he wants and he wants to tell Liz the truth. So, when danger happens in Patrick's family and he has to protect Liz and she finds out who he really is before he can get to her, she leaves. Will Patrick loose the woman he loves for good? A really great read! I recieved a free copy on booksprout and am leaving my honest review.
I am voluntarily writing this review for this book I received through arc.Pat is a billionaire manwhore who litters his draws with bras and panties from the latest conquest. Phil and Pat decided to trade cars as Pat's vette was a pick up magnet for women. Pat is going down the street where is almost hit a women. She was chasing a dog that had been limping on the other side of the street. He said he would take car of the dog at he vet and would call her after. She put her number into his phone so he could call her when he found out. Pat makes a play for Liz and tells him she just dates professional men. Liz was working and Pat came in had dinner and told her how the dog was doing. He asked her for coffee after her shift but she had declined. Getting a call from her sister that she couldn't pick her up until later. Just so happens that Pat had stuck around she goes over and asks him to take her home before her boss came out. Pat was thrilled to be able to help her out. Liz and Pat go to dinner and she explained why she would only date professionals. Liz also said that she had a son but when he got to her house her sister waved them in and Pat found out she was lying to him. Pat finally got to take Liz out even though she told him it was not a date. Liz goes to work at a catered event and finds out Pat was working there as a security guard. Meanwhile Blaine a guy starts talking her and she gives him her number hey he is a lawyer. Pat is still seeing Liz and he is really falling for her. But he still hasn't told her the truth about himself. Things seem to be getting better for Liz getting more shifts from the new owner of the restaurant. Liz has been staying at Pat's house now more often. A kidnapping of Pat's sister made Liz more a target. His friend goes over to get Liz and bring her to Pat's condo. Liz spilled something on her blouse so she went into Pat's room and noticed the draw being open. Inside were many panties and bras especially the ripped panties. Plus a letter that says that Pat was going to live in Boston. That was the last straw she gets her things and leaves to go up to Davis. Pat is beside himself for being so stupid to lie to Liz now he has to find her. Will Pat find Liz and redeem himself. Will Liz finally get over Pat and continue her dream of owning a ranch?
